Fa’avae Normani, a cultural performer from Auckland, has brought his passion for Samoan culture to the Gold Coast, Australia. A former student of Avondale College, Fa’avae led the school’s Polynesian group to success at the annual School Pasefika Festival. Under his leadership, Avondale became a standout competitor, winning numerous accolades over several years.

His journey took a new turn when he married Kara McLean and moved to Australia, seeking better opportunities. Together, they founded a non-profit organization on the Gold Coast, dedicated to promoting Fa’asamoa and traditional Samoan culture to the diaspora. Through various styles of dance, Fa’avae has engaged the youth, teaching them the values and traditions of their heritage.

In addition to his work in the community, Fa’avae’s contributions include serving as the Siva Director for Vasa Gold Coast and a Cultural Advisor for Rugby League Samoa Queensland. His latest venture, King’s Siva Academy, continues to foster cultural education and appreciation among the Pacific Islander community in Australia.

Fa’avae will showcase his work in the upcoming FIAFIA24 Show on 26th October 2024, at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, offering a platform for Samoan culture to shine on the international stage.
Fa’avae Normani, founder of King’s Siva Academy, not only dedicates his time to teaching Samoan culture through dance but also takes pride in raising his four boys: Israel, Zion, Kingston, and Saint Galu, alongside his wife, Kara, on the Gold Coast.
